Environment Canada issues a fog advisory for the GTA

Visibility is reduced to near-zero levels after a thick fog blanket sweeps into the GTA.

A patchy dense fog is blanking out visibility throughout the GTA Tuesday morning.

Setting Canada has issued a fog advisory for Toronto, Halton-Peel and Durham-York areas.

The advisory says visibility is considerably and out of the blue decreasing to close zero ranges in some areas.

Setting Canada meteorologist Peter Kimbell mentioned the fog spans thicker as a heat, moist air mass swept into the GTA with clear skies and light-weight winds final evening.

Drivers are prompt to activate their lights, decelerate on the wheel and hold a secure distance with different motorists.

Setting Canada says the thick fog will stay through the morning, dissipating by midday.

“The sunshine will burn by way of the fog, inflicting a rise in temperatures that may dissipate it,” Kimbell mentioned.
